I really enjoyed the website you provided of your friend Dona Martha's
kitchen. I am getting the feel of authentic, and was glad to learn that the way I make tamales is authentic. Tamale making has become a real tradition around the hoildays n my famly, even though we are a non-Mexican family, We do enjoy the traditions and cultures of other countries. My interest in Mexican cooking has peaked during the last 10 years due to the large migration of Mexican familes to our state. We now have things in our grocery store that were not there 10 years ago. I now work with Mexcans and my children and grandchildren go to school with Mexicans. One of the best ways to learn of their culture is through the foods that they eat. I tought it was interesting that Dona used "Coke" in her flour tortilla dough when making empanadas. This may be my next Mexican cooking adventure. Thanks again for being so willing to share the authentic ways of Mexican cooking. |
