Oh Michael, my sympathies!

I haven't had a root canal in nearly a month (!) and my favorite
post-procedure nosh is a good ol' Blue Raspberry Icee. I think that this
flavor should available wherever Icees are sold, and should be the only Icee
flavor one can ALWAYS count on finding.

sounds good to me, the last year I owned the 24/7 store I needed to have
lots of dental work done...root canals, temporary plates...you know the
drill....I had not had a Slurpee in at least 15 years....but they were sure
good and cold on the sore spots...flavor didn't really matter, just the
coolness from the ice and carbonation.

This reminds me of '99 when I broke my jaw (and badly bit my tongue as
part of the deal) playing ultimate frisbee. For 6 weeks I couldn't
eat solid food. My particular favorites, and probably 90% of my
caloric intake, were fruit smoothies (from the now-defunct Crazy
Carrot chain in Minneapolis) and beer (tasted good, nice carb level,
and helped with the swelling).

Some of my friends in frisbee had a cookout a few weeks after my
injury, and make me a fresh grilled bratwurst *smoothie*. Now that
was disgusting.

A can of Armour corned beef hash and a couple eggs cooked over easy.

Were you trying to catch the frisbee with your mouth like the trained dogs do
at the Super Bowl?

The next to last time I went to the dentist I had rose flavored ice
cream from Sukhadia, an Indian snack shop on Devon Avenue in Chicago.
(The last time I went they had stopped selling ice cream.)

Post-extraction, anything that's NOT gonna ball up and jam itself in a
