Hello, my mom recently passed away. I have one frozen container of her wonderful soup that I loved so much, but unfortunately never got the recipe -- she made it without a written recipe. I tried making it myself since she passed away, with absolutely no luck.
This soup is getting quite old and I don't want to waste it, it's very meaningful to me, but I don't want to eat it without first trying to figure out how I can duplicate it for my own family! Does anyone know of a company or lab (or person!) that can determine the ingredients of a soup sample? I'm in the Chicago area if anyone has any recommendations. I tried contacting some labs, but have only found labs that test specifically for named ingredients, they don't determine what is in a sample. Any help appreciated! Vicki pearsonzoo at yahoo.com |

What about taking some samples to a person who loves cooking or who is a
chef who's into soup? An experienced person might be able to pick up on the ingredients from taste. What type of soup is it? What do you know/think goes into it?
