well a ok one then. my aluminum one from my Asian store works fine but it is so
thin it gets all bent up and sticks together. then it is easy to get burned
taking the lid off.
I have thought of a steamer insert for a pan but since I use the steamer every
day I think a separate one is best. I like having two layers for different
foods.

As an obvious fan of wood, I think you'd given some thought to bamboo
steamers. Between my SS insert, my pressure cooker, and my bamboo stack,
I'm a steamin' fool.

my wife is blind so it needs to be easy to clean. I had thought of bamboo but
anymore only Americans use bamboo steamers (G)

I have had a bamboo steamer-- 2 parts and a lid for years. I bought it in
Hawaii , but I bet you could find one at one of the Asian Stores. It was in
expensive , attractive and is as good as new.

Not sure the size of steamer you're looking for. But here's a model
used for steaming oysters, seafood, and all other sorts of food. With
it's design it also doubles as a boiler or fryer.

just veggies. I have been getting home so late it is the only way I have time to
cook them. plus I can do allot with them after they are steamed.
though I wish I knew if I could steam eggs in the shell over boiling them for
hard boiled eggs.
