The salt in it makes the ice get colder. I also keep my gin in the

The miniscule amnount of salt that is in soda water is not going to make and
difference. Keeping the gin in the freezer is a great idea. Why not just put
the glases in the freezer for 5-10 minutes? That's what I do.

You wouldn't think it would, but it does. Try it. It's colder than
plain water.
