Default Jenn-Air question

We just moved into a house with a Jenn-Air electric range, and last night I
used to grill for the first time for a London broil that turned out great.
However, my wife had clean-up and says it was a real pain, don't use it very
often. So I would like to ask other J-A owners: what do they do about
that? Do you use it often, and completely clean it every time, or is there
a shortcut that makes it more user friendly?

There is a house I occasionally rent with the Electric Jenn-Air grill. I
usually just remove the grates and the base plates and throw them in the
dishwasher. The heating coil gets wiped of and the chrome base and the base
with the drip hole I just use some Windex after wiping the excess out with a
paper towel.

I had one 20 years.. got rid of it and went to Viking. Get the griddle
plate and don't use the grates. It will channel most fat to the jar
under. You can do most things on the griddle..even does a great steak. If
you want to 'Grill' do it outside..too much clean up and smoke to boot.

We use our Jenn Air all the time ( 3-4 times a week). No need to clean the
drip jar untill it is about full or whenever you just want to clean. We don't
grill chicken but do everything else. About every 2 weeks we wash out the under
grill area, pour hot water into the area and let the hot water drain into the
drip jar cleaning it while it drains. Either throw the jar away and replace
with pint mayo jar or dump and wash it. Wipe out the vent area when it looks
really grimy. Relax and enjoy the food.
