Old Bay makes a hot sauce??? I gotta pay more attention when I'm at the
grocery store. But 64 ounces? You must really love the stuff!

That's a serious amount of hot sauce. Congrats on that.

FWIW, I don't tell anyone they can't eat or like fake meat. Just don't
try to convince me to like it. BTDT, no thanks.

The fake meat brigade is of a mindset where they think they can create
something that tastes like meat, which they allegedly despise, using soy
and a bunch of chemicals. It makes no sense. If you don't want to eat
meat, don't eat meat. Don't expect me to try fake meat again.

I agree. Trying to convince a staunch corpse chewer to like fake meat
is a hopeless undertaking.

It's a "brigade" now? But it's true, you can make something taste
like meat without killing an animal. Soy is not required. (Where did
you get that idea?) Chemicals are often used, that's still a problem.
Not more chemicals than you consume on a daily basis in all your
supermarket products, but still.

PS: Nobody has any expectations about you trying fake meat. Why would
you? You eat dead animals.

Humans are omnivores. We are supposed to eat meat. I ate being told that
I should try some combination of soy and natural or chemical fillers
and additives and being told it tastes just like meat. Meat tastes like
meat.

We're ABLE to eat meat. We don't HAVE TO eat meat. I have to explain
everything to these American boomers.

Who tells you that you should try it? Nobody.

Suddenly RFC'ers are worrying about chemicals and additives in food.

So everything you say comes from Greg Gutfeld now? I googled him the
other day. He's indeed from Fox News and he believes the elections
were a fraud. I shall remember him in my prayers.

Sure. We have eaten spatchcocked chicken with carrots and potatoes from a
cookie sheet once and beef stroganoff with a lettuce salad twice in the last
three days for dinner. Greg told me to do it.
What did Karl direct you to eat, and how long did you have to wait in line
for the turnips, Wikiboy?

We're having chickpea/black bean tempeh. I didn't get it from Karl. I
might have gotten it from Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

I didn't know that, but he's Indonesian and so is tempeh. Also, he has
a cool name.

No, you really can't, that's a fantasy promoted by commercial
producers of fake meat in order to sell it. Fake meat does not "taste
like meat" to anyone familiar with the taste of real meat.

But here's an rfc challenge you can try at home. Using only
delicious fresh vegetables, legumes, grains, herbs and spices; try to
create something that tastes like steak or chicken.

Then post your recipe.

You know nothing about Fox News unless you watch it often.
Normal thinking people watch all news with their differing opinions then
form your own views.

You've shown here many times that you only want to hear what YOU WANT to
hear.

Does that make you a child? (your favorite cut to others)

It's always smart to get to know your enemies and listen to what they say.

Salt and pepper. Maybe some garlic powder it you like. I use regular sized buns and about 2 oz of hamburger each. Being able to make 8 burgers from a pound of meat is kind of mind blowing. If you're using small buns, you could probably make 1 oz burgers. I'll first shape the meat into a ball and roll it out thin between parchment. I use a large can of chicken stock to do that. You should put some holes through the patty to allow steam to pass through and prevent pooling on the top.
These burgers should be cooked at low heat. When you place the burger on the onions, smash it down into so you get good contact. I like to cover the pan to retain the moisture. You'll probably have to add more water to keep the onions from scorching. The onions like to stick to the pan so add some water to deglaze the pan. It's an interesting process and results in a unique tasting burger. Good luck!

I never had much use for the big American news stations. I started
watching CNN during the presidential election and then again during the
Trumpist Insurrection and the impeachment process. Holy crap. It is like
a broken record. They ran the anti Trump rant non stop for days and
days, weeks and weeks. I had always thought that Fox was bad, but CNN
was every bit as bad, just a different slant.

Besides, unless he agrees to a double-blind taste-test, his opinion on
real vs. fake meat taste is worthless.

You & I however, should put on the rib / wing feedbag.

You nailed it, Dave. Both sides have retreated to their corners.
News stations should just contain news without political slants but they
all do it. ALL of them, both sides.

That's why I suggest listening to many and make your own decision.
Both sides will only report part of any story to fit their beliefs.
Listen to the other side to hear the second part of a story.

That started when the Big Three networks decided to make the news a
profit center rather than treat it as a public service. Now it's all about
eyeballs and clicks, and the best way to get them is to play to people's
prejudices.

I tried it once a couple of months ago, in the lead-up to your
election. We lasted an hour. I forgot what it was about, but they were
very clearly lying. Their voices became grating and we went to CNN.

To YOU.

>It's always smart to get to know your enemies and listen to what they say.

I always like to listen to people from the other side of the political
spectrum. But what I saw on Fox News was untrue and childish. And,
boy, were they getting worked up about their own lies. There was
nothing interesting about it.

If you think CNN (and what's left of the Big Three networks' news) isn't
biased, it's because your biases agree with theirs.

But one network officially says they themselves are. Fox. Here, read for yourself:
"Fox News' Sean Hannity Says He Doesn't Vet the Information He Gives Out: 'I Am Not Told What to Say'"
Newsweek - Dec 1, 2020
-- https://www.newsweek.com/fox-news-se...at-say-1551417

Do you know of any other news network taking that stance?
