John is disliked by a lot of people. There's a FB page where I refer to him as He Who Must Not Be Named, and no one has asked. I think some of the regulars just assume because they know from the old days that we used to kayak together. https://www.facebook.com/john.kuthe.39 It'd be funny if it was someone from rfc who made the page. > > > > --Bryan > > > I'm wondering if you still have an old flickering flame for kuth? > You both seem unable to let go. The last time was before he was married, and his GF (later wife) convinced him that it wasn't good for him to hold a grudge, because we had other friends in common. There were stretches of years where we didn't have anything to do with each other, just because we were both doing different things. We both posted to alt.punk, and he started getting really weird there around 2007, and I mean weird even for him. Here's an example: https://groups.google.com/g/alt.punk...m/FVpRSa2MrwUJ It wasn't until he went overboard and started outright attacking me on the NG with his "narcissistic..." crap that he became my enemy. John seems to blame me for much of his disfunctionality, like I was some kind of villain. You want there to be more drama than that, but that's it. We went on one vacation together because we both liked kayaking, though for me it was more casual. John was, and maybe still is very skilled at kayaking, and we paddled water way above my competency, but the overwhelming majority of our interactions were on Usenet. > > Maybe you could use that for your next novel. I don't *write novels*. I wrote one book, and began the prequel even before finishing the first. Prior to that, I'd never written as much as a page of fiction in my wife. John isn't interesting, just oddball, and while he felt that I played a big role in his life, he played a minor one in mine, and while my life has been eventful, any sort of memoir would be very boring.. My book, however, is not boring. You should endeavor to read it. It's awfully well written, the best thing I've ever done. It's clever and funny, but best described as a *literary romantic comedy*. Literary and romantic comedy are pretty much mutually exclusive in novels. While there is a mystery, there are no murders. There are no inspiring dogs, no violence, no conniving, backbiting women, and while sex is pervasive, it's lacking in erotica. No bodices are ripped, and no women are seduced by dukes or princes.. While it's heavy in character development, and there are emotional crises, it relies mostly on dialogue, with little flowery descriptions of setting. It bears little resemblance to throwaway fiction of the sort that successful throwaway fiction authors fill pages with. It's Brautiganesque in seaming together comedy and tragedy, and at the same time a throwback to the novels of DH Lawrence. Ophelia wrote: My husband, who is a writer read your first chapter and commented "He is a very good writer, funny, but not my style of storyline ![]() The first chapter takes place in a strip club, where a recent widower meets a young woman on her first and only evening of working there. She did it on a lark, and he was there for a fix of female anatomy. In less than 13 months, lives are changed. You won't read it. No one here will. Genre fiction is easy and safe. My book is not safe. Sweetness can be cruel. Truth is painful. https://www.lulu.com/en/us/shop/brya...-176j5weg.html It's free of monetary cost, but money isn't everything. --Bryan |

John Kuthe, RN, BSN. PS: Bryan has NO degrees, just life experience at being a Janitor, and a very good one too! |

You're mentally ill and are merely a registered nurse... you are NOT a registered *mental health* nurse. So any diagnosis of yours is automatically invalid. He wrote "...as a Registered Nurse I correctly diagnosed Bryan as Narcissistic Personality Disorder." He has committed malpractice. He could delete his posts, then perjure himself, but you can't *really* delete posts. You do have a point there. He seems to feel he is 'qualified' to give diagnosis (even though he isn't) and then posts that diagnosis in a public forum. Which is clearly unethical to do so. Nobody is going to take it seriously but understand why you object to it. |

But as a Registered Nurse I AM qualified to render an opinion, ands in any mental health list of signs and symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) Bryan does seem to fit many of not all the diagnosticÂ*criteria OF NPD such as: https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=...sclient=psy-ab John Kuthe... |

In a hospital or clinic setting, RN's administer medication, change dressings, and document care in patient records. (Note: IF they can figure out the charting software, which John the Computer Engineer clearly couldn't do.) He's not qualified to diagnose anything. He can't even correctly diagnose himself. His constant LOOK AT ME! posts are a clear indication he's not only bi-polar (which he admits) but also a classic narcissist. Jill |

I've long thought that the 'profession' was questionable in so many ways. More than once I've seen more harm done than good with people I've known. |
