My paternal grandmother was German and yes, way back in the family, Jewish. (She grew up in Pennsylvania Dutch country.) Grated potato pancakes with a bit of grated onion, pan fried until crisp and browned. Wonderful! Top with sour cream or apple sauce (or not). It's part of a Hanukkah tradition but my grandmother just considered them really tasty potato pancakes. She didn't make them at a specific time of year. Jill |

Must try them again when I'm prepared to risk putting on weight. |
