Computers do what the software and hardware designers think will sell,
to maximize their corporations' profits. So the designers can earn
money to support their families (or at least their gaming habits).

Let us know when you're ready to back out, careful, don't hit the house and
bust a tire, and we'll throw a farewell party.

That's how it works if you have no clue what you're doing, yes. Mr '

You have a strange way of 'backing out of the tech world', John. You
buy an electric (coal burning) car, instead of a bicycle. You buy hifi
gear, and use the Internet virtually the entire time you're awake.
That's not 'backing out of the tech world', John.

i haven't sold anything in eons. i'm not a corporation.
i might make profits, but not from software and i'm not much
into gaming and i don't have a family to support.

i can make computers do most of what i want if i have the
time to figure it out.

He can't back up very far. Druce is close behind him with a greased

Â* I think Kootchie's computer problems can be summed up in 4 letters .
GIGO . I seldom have a problem getting my computers to do exactly what I
want ... right now my desktop (this comp) is doing usenet while the
Teeveebox is playing random tunes from stored files thru the TV and it's
6.1 sound system .

**** POOR electronic design goals! Hardware computers' biggest advance was the stored program machine, and then all the SHITTY SOFTWARE started being written! To serve primarily the Billion$ to their OWNERS! That's why Bill Gates and MicroSUCKS LICENCED DOS to IBM, and any other Tom, Dick and Smarmy who could throw together a cheap hardware box and claim it was "100% IBM Compatible' when it WASN'T!! Ergo DRIVERS were written OR NOT! When I got a free Ubuntu install CD it's tag line was "It Just Works!" but it DIDN'T! Not with the cheap Wifi card I;d just installed!

I know how this Tech shit works! Or DOESN'T! ;-)

no need to thank me. I live to serve. I only learned of your condition from a

Why? What did the whistleblower tell you? You never read this. I dont want
to be impeached! Watch out! He/she/it could come after you next. Or, you
dont pay attention to American politics, and I dont believe that.

I don't follow it that well. I don't think Trump will be impeached.
Besides, he should be in jail, which will also not happen. Enjoy! And
don't forget to re-elect him for even more fun!

Next: The Texit.

You can still make them do only do what they're designed to do, plus maybe a
little bit the designers didn't think about.

perhaps you don't get it yet that i can write my
own software easily enough if i want to (i.e. in
some sense i would fit the definition of designer
but obviously not your narrow viewpoint of one that
is only controlled by a corporation or a need to
make profits).

I get it. I'm a programmer, too. But there simply are things
that hardware is not capable of doing.

It's unlikely that you would _want_ to do anything of which
the hardware is incapable, but I'm all too familiar with the
limitations of computer hardware. We bump up against them
all the time at work. The CPU clock speed is a hard limit.
The number of floating-point operations per unit time is
a hard limit.
