Tope Plumbing, just down the road, in my 'hood!
I was working on it last evening with a long hemostat and Liquid Drano, and a toilet plunger. Pulled a LOT of hair out, but that's OK. Humans have hair, and it falls out and clogs drains, so every once in a while, OpenMyDrain.com! :-) John Kuthe, Climate Anarchist and Responsible Homeowner! |

A $2 drain strainer will save you $100+ plumbing bills plus lots of aggrivation.... I have a strainer for the tub and all sinks. Hardware stores have many types as does Amazon. I like the type that's like a piece of stainless steel window screening. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=tub+drain...sb_ss_i _3_16 I prefer this kind: https://www.amazon.com/Iafand-Strain...%2C558&sr=8-10 |

Someone has taken the trouble to pump the oil out of the ground, crack it, make polymers, mold them into a useful shape, and then you burn it, releasing harmful vapors into the atmosphere? You obviously don't give a shit about the planet. Cindy Hamilton |

I would get a 25 ft snake and ream that drain out. Clearing a drain with a snake is dirty and disgusting but it gets easier after a few times. Ha ha! You can get a drain snake for under twenty bucks. |

Clearing a drain with a snake is dirty and disgusting but it gets easier after a few times. Ha ha! You can get a drain snake for under twenty bucks. Tope Plumbing costs me $125 and I didn't have to get my hands dirty! But I got in and scrubbed good and tomorrow I'm gonna get one of those shower heads with the removable shower head thing and put it on, I'm gonna take off the existing shower head to make sure I get the right thread size! And then *I*n had to take a shower! Good thing I ate dinner for lunch, gives me lots of energy into the evening! ROFL!!! John Kuthe... |

It's scary when you run into something like that. That stuff seems to grab on to you and refuses to let go. We moved her into the upstairs room that has a bath. That pretty much solved that problem. |

I sometimes rented a house to people with teenage girls and they complained when the tub wouldn't drain. I called a plumber and he said it was stuffed with hair and the hair catching screen was gone. I gave the tenant a choice, pay the plumber or vacate. Hair catching screens are easy to clean with a paper towel. We have one long haired cat who likes to sleep in the tub, we need to clean that screen about every day. |

Most young girls on this rock have hair like that although my daughter's hair is longer than usual. They typically will wear their hair up in a bun - like the Victorian age women. I'll sometimes mistake other girls for my daughter because most of them have similar hairstyles. They kinda all look the same. When they get older, the girls will cut their hair. I think it's time for my daughter to do this but it's not my kuleana. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LvGWFL2iLA |

There was a royal proclamation in 1830 that banned the hula but that was mostly ignored so I'm not sure what that forbidden thing is about. I'm not real hip to the history of hula but my guess is that the real problems arose during the 1920's with the commercialization of hula and Hawaiian music. That changed hula into something cheesy. These days, there's two main styles of hula, one for the tourists and another for the locals. Learning the hula, like ballet or kung fu, requires a lot of dedication. It's taught similar to martial arts. Instead of a dojo, the school is called a "halau." The sensei is called the "kumu hula." Ideally, the student should start at a young age because your body has to be adopted to dancing with bent knees. Every year, there is a festival to determine which school is the best hula halau and select a Miss Aloha Hula. This means you're the best of the best. My granddaughter's grandma could have been Miss Aloha Hula but she got pregnant with my granddaughter's daddy. That was kind of a bummer but I guess it all turned out for the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRO9rvJRisw |

I don't know why they like their hair like that but they do. Some guys will have that kind of long hair. It looks kind of cool in a bun. On the mainland,it looks kind of sleezy, over here it looks Pacific Islander. ![]() |

When we see guys like that it usually means they're from the islands to the West of Hawaii. Tonga, Samoa, Micronesia. They don't look like Jim Carrey at all. |
