She's got short stubby legs but she also sort of looks like she swallowed a canteloupe. It's just her build. She weighs 12 lbs. She's also got what is known as a primordial pouch. Some spayed cats develop it and there are several theories why. All I know is it makes a female cat look fatter and more fluffy than other cats. Extra skin and fur so she looks very fat. Funny thing, when Buffy stretches out (I give her scritches down her spine, she loves that) all that extra skin along her tummy flattens out and she's a pretty long, fairly slender cat. She just doesn't look that way when she's standing up. Or rolling over to bunny kick a toy. Jill |

It's a wee pitiful creature. My guess is that the lack of food has messed up his brain. He no longer moves when cars approach him. Yesterday, he laid down in the middle of a parking space that he knew a car wanted to park. The guy backed up slowly but he didn't move. The passenger in the car got out and tried to move him. That didn't work. I was watching and helped them by pushing the cat out of the way. That was a weird scene. Come to think of it, the chickens will take their time getting out of the way of cars too. Possibly there's some kind of brain amoeba infection that makes the critters here consider suicide as a viable option. https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared...nrjhktjShulEWY ==== Hellish ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It's located in an annoying area to drive to and they open too late. Never used an ATM either. I do go to one of my 2 local grocery stores at least once a week and, using a debit card, they let me get much cash back. I always add on $20 cash back and often make it $40. One store allows up to $200 back. My nearby 7-11 will allow $10 cash back with a debit purchase. I do have to go to the actual annoying bank next week though. I have to deposit a couple of checks. At that time, I'll withdrawl $100 in "one's." Nicely they have already counted bundles of $1 dollar bills. This is my annual "prepare for hurricane season" thing and hurricane season here is approaching rapidly. Typically end of August until mid October. Also now is time to start eating out of the freezer and replacing space with large water containers turned to ice. |

My favorite way is to use a can of crushed pineapple with brown sugar (and some powdered cloves) added. Pour all right on top of ham then cook. |

The old cat I had many moons ago weighed in at 30lbs. The vet said he was slightly overweight, but not enough to worry. He was as large as a wire haired terrier, he was rescued in an out of the way area and the vet said an area where they don't neuter or spay, so the genes can be very different. He was a fantastic mouser, which was great in my last house because the mice wanted to come in during the fall. He lived to the ripe old age of 19. I knew when he was mousing, he would be lying on the bed and if he heard a mouse down in the basement, he would 'glide' off the bed - normally he thudded off the bed. About 20 minutes later he would come back to 'share' his kill, yuck. |

These days, a stack of $5's would probably be more popular. Never been to one of those bars ever though. Only seen on tv like "Married With Children" where Al loved to go to the "Nudie Bar." I did once live (1973) in a neighborhood where two neighbors did that for a living. Anyway, as you know...the small bills are for a potential bad hurricane where everyone loses electricity for several days. Worst time here was for 3 full days. During that time, many stores would open for a few hours a day using generators. Cash only and no cards. I had plenty of money in the bank but couldn't access any of it. |

Many small businesses like it when you pay cash and save them bank fees. I just had a clock repaired for $120 at a small shop. The owner smiles when I peeled off some twentys. |

We shop for bulk foods at BJs, they have Spam in four packs and it's the best price we've seen. Walmart's Great Value coffee is better than any of the big national brands and costs less... my only complaint is the packaging, it's in a large metal can that's clumsy to handle but I transfer some to small plastic canister. |

Don't know about your system but I don't pay for debits, however I do make a point of only using the debit at small businesses, they don't get charged either, only for Visa/Mastercard et al. Most here will not take American Express because they charge nearly double. |

They know it is a few percent and price accordingly. https://www.cardpaymentoptions.com/f...ees-explained/ In this case, a merchant operating under MasterCards Merit III Tier 1 fee program will pay an Interchange fee of 0.70% plus $0.15 for an exempt debit transaction. In accordance with federal law, a non-exempt transaction (not shown in this table) would receive a rate of 0.05% plus $0.21. The Prepaid Rate column does not apply to normal debit cards. |

The only place I don't request money back is the Dollar Tree store. They will gladly give cash back but want to charge me $1 for this convenience; no thank you, I'll just get my needed cash somewhere else. About the only time I actually hit a bank lobby is to ask for a couple of check registers. |

I used to be a cash-paying customer for nearly everything. Then I got a cash-back Visa and now use it for most things. But for trivial purchases and those from small businesses, I still use cash. OK, so the cost of these cards is hidden in the price, but it's there anyway. Then there are those legions of loyalty cards that just swell the wallet - if you bother with them. |

I paid cash to have my car towed - gave the guys 5 twenties and an extra 20 for the driver. I told them to forego the receipt too. They like that kind of stuff. The office girl jumps up and runs across the street to get lunch for the office. That made everybody involved in the transaction feel all warm inside. |

My wife and daughter will give that cat some food but he has the stomach for only a small amount and then the chickens move in. Mostly, the cat will lay in the parking lot during the afternoon and evenings and watch life go by. |
