Jill, my bad, I am sorry I forgot who the question was from...that's my senior memory which
sometimes recalls incorrectly. ;-)) When I reply with quotes from the poster who needs an answer, I am using my laptop. When there is no reference, I try to address the person to whom I am responding. The difference is when there aren't any quotes, like now, I am using this original version of an iPad. N. |

You should change your Usenet provider. Perhaps they think you're using too much bandwidth. Whatever it is, it doesn't matter - they got your number. I would stay away from Google Groups though. Google doesn't allow promiscuous postings all over town. They think I overpost sometimes. What??? That's the breaks. |

Google doesn't allow promiscuous postings all over town. They think I overpost sometimes. What??? That's the breaks. Giganews is aimed at binary groups. There's no way you're going to exceed any kind of quota using text only posts. AIOE has a limit to the number of posts you can make per day, but they're free. |

The name was originally an insult thrown at me by a member of uk.politics.misc as he kfd me for being €śthe fruitiest of fruitcakes€ť. Basically, my crime was to disagree vigorously with his views. I thought that name sounded quite pleasant, as I like fruitcake - and, as my previous name had been another insult €śJohnny Know-all€ť I decided that it would be a nice change. It is pure coincidence that it appears relevant to a cooking forum. However, I have baked our Christmas cake for the last 25-30 years and so it is somewhat appropriate. My fruitcake cant be that bad or no one would eat it. The only change to the recipe I have made is to substitute gluten free self raising flour for the ordinary variety. This is because my daughter has coeliac disease and therefore can now eat the cake as well. Apart from being a finer flour and giving a slightly wetter cake mix, I cant say that I have noticed any difference in the results. |

I know, but they are like that on uk.p.m. Many tend to have only two alternatives to an argument, their view and the wrong view - and rather than have to put up with a counter argument they use the excuse of mental illness or conspiracy nutter views of their opponent for the reason to killfile. You get used to it after a while. |

It shows a good sense of humour to adopt them ![]() I do remember kfing a lot at that time because the nastiness that was being thrown around just gets to me and I think I even left for a while. I have various people here kf too. Guess why? Yep, nastiness. I am here because I love to cook and I learn a lot and get good ideas here. There are some fantastic cooks and bakers here and I love it when they share ![]() The others, I have no interest in their hateful and repugnant bitching. Having said that, if I happen to see it against me, I will respond, as you will have seen. It beggar belief that they come in, with outrageous attacks and suggestions, and half wits believe it!
