There are Brit shops here that come and go. There used to be a stall at
the local farmers' mkt where I bought pickled onions from time to time.
However, it didn't last and as it happens, Calgary Co-Op supermarkets
carry them with other British delicacies.

Oh well. Thank you for the nice thought. Sounds to me like just
regular peas will work well enough. Not only that, the process
sounded like what I've done anyway. Just cook peas and smash
about half of them and add some butter, S&P. Only thing I never
added was a bit of cream.

Our is owned by a charlatan who claims to have been a 'barrer boy' but
he's as cockney as me.

Graham, if they are reg'lar pickled onions,mother are super easy to make. Just a nuisance to
peel in preparation.

I've made them in the past but can't be bothered these days. I have the
spice blend specifically for them too.
