Default Lunch today

For lunch today, we grabbed some street food... we'd had a late
breakfast so not looking for something heavy: Piper leaves, lime,
coriander, Thai basil, scallions, lettuce, peanuts, fried chilli,
Spicy rice balls, and to be honest I'm not sure what the other one is,
but is also rice-based and delicious.

The second bag contains guava, quite different to the guava in the
West... much more firm and less sweet, but very fragrant. One of my
favourites.

We made a lovely massaman curry out of them. Well, not really. They're
still alive and well back home in Tasmania, with my mother.

I do miss them. I plan to go back for a few months soon, but need to
stick around here for a couple more weeks to finalise the purchase of
another condo (long story).

I love the food here in SE Asia. Good food and fresh produce is
everywhere. My tastes have changed considerably in the past couple of
years, I don't enjoy western food half as much as I used to,
especially red meat.

When you aren't eating, are you keeping busy diddling the kiddies?

Whatever happened to Johnjohn?

In recent years, when in Australia and cooking at home, I tend to eat
vegetarian or even vegan meals at least two days per week. Not for any
philosophical or ethical reasons, I've just progressively become less
interested in eating meat for some reason. But don't worry, I
compensate by punching a kangaroo in the face when I do this.

Tomorrow morning I'll definitely eat meat. I'm craving Pad krapow moo
kai dow (minced pork with holy basil, chilli, rice and a fried egg).
It's so damned delicious.

You could have at least moved your fuzzy underwear out of the
picture :-) But it's still a nice looking dish and picture. Except
what's with the plates?
