Default Ice Cream Maker recipes

Hi folks!

I scored a new to me toy! Off Freecycle, a 4 quart Ice Cream Maker
(electric).

Anyone have some simple recipes to make in it? I'm googling some
basics right now but I'd like to hear from some who have done it.

I pickup the machine tomorrow morning then am taking a friend grocery
shopping (she doesn't have a car and her scooter is in the shop for
repairs. She's using my 6speed bicycle just now). I can get the stuff
to make a batch when at the grocery with Izzy.

I found out lots of fun stuff! My pickup got shifted (was warned, my
friend just noted her car is due for state inspection this month and
she's in a long line). I pickup tomorrow. It is the type where you
add crushed ice and salt to the outer bucket so I googled and found
water softener salt works just as well as the 'sold for ice cream
makers' salt and is about 4$ for 40lbs. I can use it on the driveway
in winter at need also.

Shopping list now is the salt, Condensed milk cans, regular milk, heavy
cream (whipping cream?), and some recipes call for half-n-half which
seems same as heavy/whipping cream in some recipes. Of course I need
other stuff, but that's all for the Ice Cream.

Lots of recipes out there. My one comment is that too much heavy cream
leaves a fatty feal on the tounge, so you can overdo the "richness". I
haven't zerod in on a preferred cream content yet, which you can achieve
with various combinations of milk, half and half, heavy cream.

Any thoughts out there?

Yes, I agree about the heavy cream. I didn't like it being so rich.

I don't have mine now. Granddaughter went off back home with it after a
visit last year)

I narrowed in on a recipe of Heavy cream (may not be as heavy as what
you have), half-n-half and milk.

3C sugar
4C heavy cream
2C Half-n-half
3C milk
2TB lemon juice
1TB vanilla extract

We added a TB of a baking coffee spice to it with good effect.

Charlotte got an impulse purchase of a canned whip-cream that was
peanut butter and topped it a bit with that. LOVELY!
