I can't help wondering why all the female former housemates left.

When you advertised vacancies, why didn't they jump at the chance to
move back in to a newly renovated home at low rent with free taxi
service and meals laid on?

Why won't they live with you any more?

He mentioned elsewhere her she was too busy studying on her actual
birthday to go out to dinner with him. I'm betting she wanted to spend
it with *real* friends and people her own age. She sure didn't jump at
the chance to move back in.
