I do the same and I still have almost a full (12oz) package in my
freezer that I bought last year.

I know they're not peeled but I've come across some chewy/tough cranberries
with the homemade stuff.

I've never once bought fresh cranberries. My youngest sister-in-law buys
the bags and she's the only one that makes the homemade stuff. I eat it
to be polite but I don't care for the concoction at all. To _me_ the
canned stuff in infinitely better.

My grandmother ran hers through a food mill before letting
the sauce jell.
