Most locals try to avoid Waikiki if they can. Unless one works in the
hospitality industry, it's not a place that is welcoming to us. I rather
stay in my little town.

We had lunch/dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Kaneohe yesterday. It was
most wonderful! We had salt & pepper chicken wing, spicy garlic eggplant,
and beef broccoli. We had no rice. The waitress had a little trouble with
that concept. She was totally new at the job. She gave us forks instead of
chopsticks. That was most unnatural. We tried eating with the forks but it
was tough going. I had a big piece of beef fall with a splat on the table -
that was quite discouraging. All I can say is that we tried. We ended up
asking for chopsticks and balance was once again restored in the universe.

I can see me being the one to let something fall with a splat from a
chopstick) I bought some to try out a while ago, but I am rubbish at it
LOL

I am a little bemused by the idea of a single chicken wing ...

What is beef broccoli?

Just one of my favorite chinese dishes. Beef & Broccoli it's
called here. Just like the name implies, just broccoli and good
chunks of beef in a savory sauce and served over rice.
