I could go for either of those meals except for the creamed peas.

My military father loved canned creamed peas. He ate it over toasted
white bread. Oh dear. I guess he was used to field rations.

It's no wonder it took me a lot of years to like fresh peas. I can't
say I will never eat creamed peas, but there's a good chance I won't.

Oon the sea islands there is something called "creamers and beans".
Creamers is slang for small white potatoes. The beans are fresh short
or pole beans, cut into pieces. Together the combination with cream is
called creamers and beans.

I'm not really advocating this site, but it was the closest I could find:

You get the idea. Turns out boiled small potatoes and green beans,
tossed in a basic white sauce is trendy but bland, absolutely boring.
Creamers and beans. LOL

I don't think my mother served either the peas or beans but I am
familiar with the dish from someplace. Or the little pearl onions and
peas in cream sauce. I think the beans and potato thing is a first
picking from the garden thing. You steal some baby potatoes from
under the vines to go with the brand new garden beans. Every once in
awhile I get a craving for that sort of dish but I don't think I have
ever made it. I don't think it has to be bland, use butter for the
sauce, whole milk, some freshly ground pepper and finely diced parsley
I think that would be lovely. Darn! Now I've got a craving.

Actually, they aren't bad as a side on the plate. Potatoes and
peas in a white sauce is even better to me.

I know you wouldn't care for it, but I'd much rather have my potatoes
and beans tossed in a vinaigrette as potato salad. Much more
interesting.

Thank you, yes. I can't say when I might make it, since I very rarely
eat potatoes, but I'd love to see it.
