You're becoming hard to follow. I think you're taking too much or too

I was being facetious, of course. I'm sure Gary knew that.

Where I lived most of my adult life (west TN) it didn't snow every year
but there were often sleet and ice storms. There were no salt trucks.
No plows because it was, after all, the mid south. Ice storms can be
very nasty. Driving on ice is no fun. Been there, done than for many
years.

Yes, you NEED to be able to get your car out of the driveway when it
snows. It doesn't snow where Gary lives very often. It shocked the
hell out of me when it snowed a few inches here in South Carolina in
January. (That was actually fun.)

It doesn't negate the fact that you mainly need a car you can get out of
the driveway when it snows. You live where it snows often. It's not
the frivolous thing Kuthe makes it out to be. Sure sounds like a
necessity rather than a luxury.

Oh, and I don't care if he buys a Tesla or a Leaf. Or anything else.

I intentionally added them for obvious reasons. I also started with
two, then three, and finished with four!!!!!

I prefer to not be stuck on the side of the road. If something should
happen, I press a button and they pick up the car, give me a loaner, and
fix it at zero cost.

My Leaf has adequate heat, A/C and defrosters, all electrically powered. We can do most anything with electricity. WITHOUT pollution!

Lability is MY SUPERPOWER!

MOVE someplace with a LOT FEWER NEEDS!

Living where YOU WANT is NOT A NEED!! I live a 5 min walk to UMSL one way and a 5min walk to the Metrolink UMSL South station and a 5 min drive to/from STL International Airport!! I can and do own and drive an all electric car and it WORKS for me excellently.

Or don't you WANT to move into the 3rd Industrial Revolution AKA Jeremy Rifkin:

A borrowed and overused term to me is "Engineer."
Often used to enhance what someone's job actually is.
Just makes it sound better.
The one I can think of right now is "Domestic Engineer."

The term "engineer" is restricted by law in Alberta. Only those
registered with the professional association may use it so, for example,
the term "software engineer" is banned.

I think *domestic engineer* came into being when men started doing some of

You forgot the one where you pretend to be a engineer/scientist/guru/jokester and then try to bluff your way through life. I love games but only if it involves the knowledge and consent of the players. Don't involve me in your games and we'll get along just fine.

Yep! I'm forced to belong to the same body that covers engineers and
geoscientists. They are becoming more and more petty as well as
increasing the fees, so I'll resign this year. I've had enough.

Bullshit you grossly UNeducated douchebag...
generating/transporting electricity POLLUTES!
And if you think manufacturing solar panels, wire, transformers, and
lots of other associated equipment doesn't pollute then you are the
dumbest douchebag on the planet. Electric powered vehicles pollute
as much as internal combustion powered vehicles, if not more.

The definition of an engineer is somone who can draw a picture of a
toaster but hasn't the ability to produce a toaster... and likely
can't use a toaster without burning the bread. Engineers are all
about theory, not a whit about reality. Case in point, an
Agricultural Engineer couldn't grow beans. All engineers are data
collecters, they all proselytize those who actually do... an
engineering degree is a licence to steal.
