Like when I was 18 ands I went up to CMC Stereo and I KNEW MORE ABOUT THEIR EQUIPMENT than the CMC Salesman did!!

I learned about audio equipment from reading manufacturer's sales brochure material I mailed away for! Same way with the Tesla rerp, who I told I have a degree in Electrical Engineering, and I taught the Tesla sales rep more than he taught ME about all-electric cars!

And the Tesla S is SWEET! Faster off the line than my Nissan Leaf (but with the SAME BACKWARDS-ASS directional controller only on the Tree and not on The Floor like my Leaf!

Still like my Leaf better, and it DIDN'T cost me $100,000+ but only slightly LESS than $10K off a 3 year LEASE!!

NEVER BUY NEW! New Cars DROP substantially in price as soon as you drive it off the dealer lot! Let some OTHER Foole take the depreciation hit!! :-)

Someone should come out with keyboards with extra keys that have 1,2,3, or 4 exclamations. That would be sweet. I'd sure use them. I need to post with a little more enthusiasm. The great thing about these keyboards is that a person that would buy such a product would be likely to buy at least 2 of them at a time(!).

I intentionally added them for obvious reasons. I also started with

I prefer to not be stuck on the side of the road. If something should
happen, I press a button and they pick up the car, give me a loaner, and
fix it at zero cost.

My son's new girlfriend bought a used Leaf. They were riding in it during a recent rainstorm and were rear-ended by a Honda CRV. My son got out and asked the driver if he was alright and the guy told him to pull over to the side. They did but he didn't. He cut over through 2 lanes and went the opposite direction. That sucked but I suppose that's a lot better than getting incinerated in a white hot electrochemical explosion.

As far as I know, the batteries in electric cars are electrochemical storage devices. My guess is that, in a few years, we'll be using solid state batteries. At least that's the direction researchers are scrambling for. This probably does not bode well for Musk/Tesla and his Gigafactory.

Lithium batteries ARE SOLID STATE you MORAN!! Every BIT SOLID STATE! Lithium melts at 357F and nothing IN a Leaf burns at that temp!! And if something DID melt the lithium, so what? The FIRE would be more of a problem than the melted lithium!

There's that 1960's college "electrical engineering degree" showing
it's age. Batteries are not considered solid state, only
semiconductors when compared to vacuum tubes. Lithium (and all
batteries for the last 2,300 years) batteries are electromechanical.
They rely on chemical reactions to store energy and convert it to
electricity. Atoms and other shit is moving in those batteries, you
just can't see it.

Even I know that and I don't have a useless electrical engineering
degree.

This is the first time dsi1 actually got something right. but then he
follows it up with this "I guess... " bullshit, as usual.

ObFood: According to nutritional information, there's less than half a

I need something that will get me up out of my driveway when it snows,
pull a utility trailer, provide ready access to groceries (I hate
bending down to lift them out of a car's trunk), and haul a decent
amount of stuff when I don't want to pull the trailer. I've got a
2004 Toyota Highlander. Air-conditioning is a must in this climate.

I wonder about temperature control in electric vehicles. If it is really
hot you need A/C. I can usually live without that up here, but in the
dead of winter I want some heat in the car, and you need a good
defroster when the windows fog up.

My Leaf has adequate heat, A/C and defrosters, all electrically powered. We can do most anything with electricity. WITHOUT pollution!

Sounds good to me and I'd want airco too where you live. Here, I just
open two opposing windows to get a cool breeze.

lol. I was going to mention your heated steering wheel too. None
of that is necessary for me here but you do drive lots of miles
and in sometimes very cold weather too. Each to their own.
