Canada never had an issue with Cuba, lots of kids come here on student
exchange and many from this area have been holidaying there for as
long as I can remember. They are lovely people. We dread the thought
that McDogs is going to start appearing

Hortons is a pretty sad statement of our standards these days. They
used to make good coffee and darned good donuts. They had quite a
variety of donuts and made them in the store. They have cut way back on
the donuts and have tried tarts, pies and cakes but without much luck.
Now they have a selection of soups and sandwiches which are not great,
with the exception of the Thai chicken soup which they serve only
occasionally. Their coffee went way, way downhill. About a year ago
they brought out the dark roast, which was a little closer to what it
used to be, but I just don't like it anymore. I used to go to Hortons
once or twice a day but now it is more like once a month.

Haven't been in one for about 20 years - when they started importing
frozen doughnuts from Ontario rather than the individual franchise
making their own. I didn't know they were doing that, ordered a Honey
Crueller and it was inedible, yuck!

The few times I've visited, the line-ups were long and moved at a
glacially slow rate. They appear to be badly organised behind the counter.

That depends a lot on the location. Some of them are very slow while
others are very fast. I know the one near the QEW in Vineland used to be
painfully slow but improved. I was on the road most of the time and
stopped at most of them in our district, but I rarely go to them anymore.

It is not totally undrinkable. I go on kayak club paddles several times
a week and if I am running early and have time I grab a coffee to go.
There are preferred places, but Hortons are everywhere around here. I
live in town of 15,000 and he had three. Now we are down to two.
