People who care and are responsible are already driving carefully and aware of what is going on around them. Then there are the other people who don't even recognize a problem exists let alone give a damn. These 'memorials' intrude on landowners property, public right of ways, are an eyesore and cause extra work for others. I personally don't believe these memorials are placed because of a deep mourning need but rather to gain personal attention. Janet US |

I'm still clueless what purple rain is about. Okay, had to check it out: http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...88&FORM=VRDGAR I watched/listened for like 30 seconds and realized he has no voice, can't carry a tune, and never took diction lessons. Prince could never compete on any level with Sammy Davis Jr., who also died fairly young, age 64, of throat cancer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sammy_Davis_Jr. |

OMG, some of the versions I have heard have been horrible, especially those who are used to singing with a modulating voice and can't hit a not and have to warble around until they get it. Last year they had Justin Bieber doing the half time show for the Grey Cup game. People were upset because the audience booed. It is the first time I ever saw him perform and I was not impressed with his singing. I don't know who the genius was who thought that the people who watch football would be appreciate a bubble gum pop idol. |

Our neighbours were upset about a memorial that ended up on their front lawn and the crowds of students that used to hang out on their lawn after a local student was killed in a motorcycle accident in front of their house. I remember the incident well because the kid had been an accident looking for a place to happen. It was early in motorcycle season. I used to get home from work at 3:45 pm and every day for a preceding week and a half this guy would come flying down the road. It is a 60 kph zone and he would be doing well over 100 kph on his crotch rocket. One afternoon at the usual time an oncoming vehicle had crossed the centre line because of a flock of geese. The kid crested the hill at high speed and hit her head on. He was dead on impact. He was the author of his misfortune. It had been only a matter of time before he crashed and the only good thing about it is that no one else was killed or injured. The neighbours kept removing attempts at shrines and started shooing kids away from their property. |

Sounds like you're who's envious, with your agonzing over the attention paid to others. All one can say is it must make you feel less despondant to imagine other's live lesser lives. Besides you don't belong here, you can't cook. You are boring me with your Princely Whining, there's nothing to be learned from such a low IQer loser as you, it's time I ignore you. |

You;re so far ****ing out of touch it BOGGLES the mind of the reasonable man. This nation is in the midst of a major opioid crisis. Yes, I and all other reasonable adults know he WAS a man. And his coterie of girlfriends, two wives, etc. can attest as much. http://heavy.com/entertainment/2016/...n-did-he-have/ That "homely" man was well liked by the most attractive women on the planet. >> because he's a lonely old fart with a drinking >> problem and some considerable envy. > > I'm old but I'm far from lonely, Bullshit. > and I probably drink substantially > less than most people here, Well that shades in the Crystal Palace bulk purchases as normalized then...for "here"... > I just have no need to feel inadequate by > admitting that I buy less expensive booze... and I've no reason to be > envious, I live very well. And what a lot of bullying you vermin present me to comment upon here. > All one can say is it must make you feel > less despondant to imagine other's live lesser lives. No imagination involved, you demonstrate you own provincial complex for all to see. Only a moron like you would cast aspersion upon the Land of Enchantment, but that's at least partly an environmental bigotry born of your years in the mis-perceived center of the universe, Lung Eyeland. Sad to say noo yawkas overcompensate for their stolid conditions even more belligerently than Texans! > Besides you don't belong here, you can't cook. You're dished out that insipid gruel before to myself and almost all others. This from some slop chef from a tin can. It is to laugh, Mr. Bulk Me Up king. You either have a tapeworm or the metabolism of a 16 year old. > You are boring me with your Princely Whining, So much so that you come back for more and more. No, it was time three or so posts back, but you're so needy you had to see if you had the stones to run with me. As ever you proved an utter failure. |

The knowledge that II am an irritant to bullies, bigots, doddering narrow-minded old farts, and misanthropes and of course the overt misogynists that reside here is a great and abiding comfort to me and I deeply appreciate your gracious observation on the matter. I also know people who have died and have memorials for them. I begrudge no family the right to, within state and local laws, express their lasting love for their lost ones and simultaneously remind us all to pay attention, slow down, and let the passenger handle the 'smart' phone. |
