Default Any special V Day meals planned?

I haven't made any yet. Not sure what I'm going to make but I will go to
Winco tomorrow and see what they might have. Fridge is pretty full of food
now but I might get some meat. They have started carrying some really good,
grass fed beef.

I don't know what we're having - I'm being taken out to dinner and the
theatre.

California BBQ at my son's. The family will gather there. They're
building a fence to divide the yard into a dog's space (which includes
the firepit) and kid's space, which is where the play structure and
garden is. Then we eat.

I have a rack of lamb for two in the freezer and I will cook that,
nice and medium rare. There will be a baked potato and salad to go
with.

I'm mulling over what to make for dessert - either a mini-cheesecake
of some kind or molton chocolate cakes. I've got ingredients in the
house for just about any dessert you can name, so I'll be able to
decide at the last minute if necessary.

No, we don't do Hallmark holidays. A couple of weeks ago he bought me a
dozen roses for no particular reason, except to show that he appreciates me.

Probably tonight it'll be shrimp cocktail for dinner, and he's asked for a
steak--but I'm deferring until Monday when the weather will be more favorable
for grilling.

But that's just normal eating here.

That is what happens here too. Much nicer than just 'Hallmark holidays'!

It sounds like a very nice time, Ed. Are you doing the one or two day
thing?

Just dinner. It is 10 minutes from home so we're not going to stay for
breakfast.

Valentine's Day is a Hallmark Holiday.

I pretty much made a smothered pork chop dinner as described on a club
menu last week except I didn't buy it at the club. I made it from
scratch. Mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts. Delicious!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a B'day at DD's yesterday for her DD and it was Family Pizza
Night to break in the Breville Pizza Oven they got for Christmas from
Son-in-Law's aunt. IT WORKS WELL!!! Oh, my gosh. You could have
tipped me over with a feather about that. We cranked up the oven as
high as it goes and heated the pizza stone, but it turns out that
unless there are two people making pizza - all you need is one of them
going, so it might as well be the Breville.

We took the grandkids home to spend the night so their Mom & Dad could
have a relaxing V-Day. Then they came here to pick up the kids and
have dinner here... which was simple enough because everything was
oven roasted: chicken legs, potatoes, zucchini and sugar snap peas.

Thanks. I had the roast beef and potatoes. Not sure where husband is or
what he had. House is full of teens. They had pizza and chicken and they
didn't *sniff* touch the crudités. One brought cookies that she baked. She
is taking a cooking class.

Sounds like you gave them a nice relaxing day and you and the grandkids
got a nice, easy, tasty meal!

He's likely celebrating St. Valentine's day with that young big
bosomed chick from the office... and you know very well what he had,
but I'll bet today he's exhausted. LOL-LOL

Two year old grandson, even said "Thank you for dinner, Gramma"
without hearing anyone else say it first. I figure anything with a
handle is food that will make a kid happy.
