I wonder if this narrowmindedness is a Canadian thing. Or maybe it's a
coincidence that Beavis and Butt-head are both Canadian.

I don't eat meat because I care for animals. One article about
greenhouse emissions isn't going to change that. I can probably find 100
articles that explain how bad cattle is for the environment.

Yes, note he bashes you and Canadians, not the article which makes
sense, especially since it comes from Scientific American.

I'm not interested in the article. Do you read everything people link
to? I just wonder why these narrowminded Canadian men hate vegetarians
and vegans so much. They must somehow feel threatened by them.

I don't hate either! I have nothing but contempt for vegans - and that
is because of their "holier-than-thou" attitudes. Vegetarians are too
variable in their likes and dislikes.

The very few vegans that I know don't have that attitude. You do.

What's wrong with that? Do they all have to be the same? And don't they
all share the main principle of not eating animals?

I care about your love of animals...as I care for them too. I care to EAT their carefully cooked carcasses.
Woof, woof...them's good vittles.
A meal without meat is incomplete.

You have such an inventive mind - 'hate' vegetarians? Feel
'threatened' by them? Suggest you read the article.

He says himself that he has contempt for vegans, so I invented
correctly. And I'm not interested in the article.

I assume you're just winding him up with that last one. There are lots
of good meatless meals, starting with the humble tomato soup and
grilled cheese.

I eat meat almost every day, but generally only a couple of ounces
at dinner time. Today I'll probably go meat-free, with Greek salad
for lunch and lentil soup for dinner. Not because I hate meat, but
because each of those is a satisfying and delicious meal.

I often eat meatless meals...maybe almost 1/2 the time. But I do want
it other times. Like you, I don't eat much when I do. For me, maybe an
average of one pound per week or maybe a bit more. There are quite a
bit of satisfying vegetarian meals out there. Even some very nice
vegan ones.

Except that it isn't and it doesn't. The article is good but the
headline just misleading click-bait.

In brief: the agricutltural and commercial practices in North America
that bring fresh salad to your plate at great expense are shockingly
wasteful of resources and damaging to the environment.

So you don't need to read it now.

I average 3-4 meatless days a week... I'm often satisfied with an
omelet containing lots of veggies, I like vegetable soups, I enjoy
meatless pasta dishes. In summer a favorite dinner consists of lots
of diced fresh fruit with cottage cheese or cottage cheese with minced
fresh veggies. At least once a week I'll have a vegetarian oriental
vegetable soup... that'll be lunch today but then tonight I'll be
having that rib roast with one of those huge baked potatoes, and
spinach... dessert will be fudgey brownies. A lot of days I don't eat
meat because I simply don't feel like cooking... I don't consider a
large Greek salad cooking only I don't like fehta so I'll use some
other cheese, even tofu works.

Oh bullshit and horse turds combined! As much large meat that you
post about buying and cooking here? No way you eat meatless 3-4 days a
week. LOL! Kiss my ass. Completely a lie unless you've got a dozen old
freezers down in that moldy basement of yours.

Time to go mow your lawn, my friend.

Same here Cindy. I never really bothered to add it up much but I
suspect we have 2 days a week here that are truely meatless (if eggs
accepted and normally they are) for all meals that day. The variation
will be Don and breakfast.

Meat at lunch? Scratching head but 3 times a week for me. Probably 1
for Charlotte and apt to be 5 for Don. Meat at breakfast tends to be
1-2 times a month for Charlotte and me. Don likes sausage biscuits so
will often have one. Not sure how many days a week.

If you accept that this includes all seafood, we eat meat about 5
nights a week on average.

She should call the cops. I've already publicly admitted it is me so
a conviction should be a piece of cake and then forging would stop.
So what's stopping her? I think she suffers from Bovism - she just
loves the attention and drama and screw the rest of the group.
