Does anyone use Google Keep to make their (grocery) lists? DD just
turned me on to it. I think I'm going to ditch Out of Milk. Keep
makes it very easy to share lists with another gmail user (don't know
how it works with others). If you have a newer android smart phone,
it's probably already in the extended apps - if not, it's available at
both the Google and iTunes Stores. https://www.google.com/keep/

The way I do lists is to keep a list of everything I use, then delete
the stuff I don't plan on buying during my current trip.
Just print the shorter list

It has a clear kinesthetic appeal, plus you don't have to wander around

Me three.

I use a 4" x 6" spiral pad. I can squeeze three or four separate lists
on one page - I just cross out everything on the previous day's list
and start over. (I'm cheap about stuff like that.) The pad is always
sitting on my desk next to my computer.

It fits in a little pocket in my purse, so I can always find it when
I'm out.

Yes. I hate having to walk around with my phone out. I risk dropping it,
losing it or having it yanked out of my hand by a thief.

All valid concerns, plus there is some kind of magnetic distraction
field it sets up.

I see phone zombies literally transfixed, thumbs ablaze, blocking the
meat aisle or whatever - the entire universe condensed down to THEIR
little device, all the rest of us mere cyphers.

It creeps me out.

I'll checkout Wunderlust when I get a chance, thanks.

OoM is one heck of a busy layout. Hate all those categories. I got
rid of them on the computer, but it didn't translate over to my phone
so I like the simplicity of the individual Keep lists. I only have
one so far - for generalized groceries right now. Each entry has a
check box next to it. When the box is checked, the entry is
automatically crossed out and moved to the bottom.

And of course, you've NEVER been blocked by anyone standing in an aisle

Yes, they have but they're used to that and they do it themselves.

It's interesting to se how many people here think that what works for
them is best for everybody.

An app wouldn't be practical for us. I post a list on the fridge
with all of the items we usually use, plus space for write-ins. When
DH uses something up, he adds it to the list. It's in the order that
I traverse the grocery store, so no time is lost casting back and forth
for things I forgot to get in aisle 1 because they were at the bottom
of the list.

If I were in sole charge of the kitchen and shopping, it might be
different.

I try to be considerate and go to an area where there aren't a lot of
shoppers when checking my *paper* list. The thing about paper lists is
they don't require a charger and I don't have to worry about them
sync'ing (or not) with any other devices. :)

Note to Alan Holbrook - those same people blocking the aisle looking
at their paper list would also be blocking the aisle if looking at
their e-list on their cell phones.

I'm like you, Jill. I always move out of the way when another shopper
is coming by. I like my 5x7 paper lists and also my paper books. No
e-books for me either.

There is no doubt that I have seen people occasionally glancing at paper
shopping lists. I don't think they compare to the people walking around
with their eyes glued to electronic devices. I stopped dodging them in
stores and other public places. I am not interested in dodging our of
the way of people in my real world who are too wrapped up in their own
little world.

We have a little white board on the fridge too. No particular order of
the list but it's a short one normally. Common stuff we don't bother
to list because I know to get it already but the one off's like a
particular spice get listed.

Not everything benefits from "new" technology. Simple paper and pen for
a list is hard to beat. Easily transferred from one person to another too.

The app works much better than paper in you situation because it's
sharable and you can add to it from anywhere you're connected to the
internet. He adds, you add and neither of you need to be at home in
the kitchen to do it. You can even add to it while your husband is in
transit or doing the shopping, which is something that doesn't happen
with paper. I don't need to hear justifications about why people
can't change their old pencil & paper list ways. I'm married to a
Luddite, so I'm familiar with the type. I just wanted to know if
anyone else used Google Keep and found out about Wunderlust (which I
haven't looked at yet).

I'm cheaper yet, I make up note pads from junk mail paper. I also use
the blank backs of junk mail paper to print crosswords. Most junk
mail is better paper than the ordinary reams I buy.

He probably doesn't even realize Keep is already on his Android phone,
probably on his iPhone too and available for free at both stores. Of
course people who live alone can write their lists on the palm of
their hand.

It's all feel.

The kinesthetic touch of a book still beats a kindle for me, plus I
never worry about disturbing my sleep clock with light before bed.

No, honestly I have not that I can recall.

I see folks leaving their lists within view in the child seat portion of
the cart and glancing down.

Phone zombies are transfixed.

I just keep my eyes open and move to the side. I too like a paper
list. I go online at the store I plan to shop at (normally Harris
