Have you seen the commercials? It's the Halloween Whopper. Same
sandwich but the bun is dyed black. I'm sure it tastes the same but the black bun is a *fail*, imo. LOL! G. |

But it TASTES the same!! When I lived with Bryan in Novelty Studios, we played with food colorings, and had some black food coloring. We made some black pancakes that looked like little manhole covers!! We used the colorings as a way to disuade our often present friends from wanting us to make them any food while we were making ourselves some food! And some blue and green spagetti with black sauce!! Not to mention putting a few drops of green food coloring in a big can of peanuts, cashews, maybne mixed nuts and shaking it around to make all the nuts look moldy! People are funny about the appearance of their food. John Kuthe... |

I buy Sumatran coffee, and very little cocoa is grown in the U.S. so where woiuld we be withpiut imported cocoa/chocolate? I'm against the whole move of the U.S. industrial base to China, formerly American brands made in the U.S. now made in China! Like Rubbermaid, Crtaftsman, Coleman, Thermos, etc. Used to be American briands employing United States workers to make their products, but since MalWart, NAFTA/CAFTA, etc. you can't find non-China or ?? made stuff in the U.S. anymore! I had to buy a 1940's Kitchenaid A9 coffee mill off Ebay because you can't find a coffee grinder made in the U.S. anymore, new. John Kuthe... |

And kids generally have poor taste. I use an example Tom who lived across the street from me when we were kids. He said the best food in the world was McDonald's hamburgers, I said it was lobster. I've always been a gourmet. Even in elementary school! John Kuthe... |

One of my friends pointed out to me many years ago that she did not like the taste of foods that were dyed red. I hadn't really noticed it prior and I don't eat a lot of dyed foods. I suppose that I wouldn't notice it in something like Twizzlers but I did in M & M's which was the example that she gave. I had made cookies with red and green ones in them. Then a few weeks ago, I bought some tortilla chips in Seahawks colors. I worried that the large amount of blue and green food coloring in the chips might affect the taste. But the other two in this house liked them and my mom raved about how good they were. I didn't tell her that they were just ordinary chips with food coloring added. Yes, I know you can get chips made of blue corn but that's not what these were. I also bought Halloween yogurt cups. Daughter was disappointed that it was the same old yogurt inside. |
