There is good reason for newly hatch chicks to be de-beaked for
shipping. Pigs can be even worse. They will eat anything, including
humans. When we first moved here the neighbours had about a half dozen
pigs. They used to tie their dog up back there. One day the dog was
sleeping and leaning against the fence of the pig pen. One of the pigs
bit off the end of his ear.
