Yeah, Carol. Lemon water with fresh lemon slices. You mentioned
lemonade, that was your mistake. Lemonade really does need to be
sweetened a bit. She brought up the alternative sweeteners, nope, can't
have any. The answer is don't drink lemonade.

She isn't even the one who mentioned it. I merely made a comment. I happen
to like frozen lemonade but I can't have it now because I haven't found a
sweetener that I can have. I didn't ask anything. I just made a comment.

I make a lot of frozen lemonade this time of year. (I also make
lemonade with lemons, but for the most part I use frozen). I don't find
it needs any sweetening. I buy premium brand juice because the
cheaper/store brands always seems to taste like a lot of the rind was
squeezed into the juice.

Julie, you're looking for sweetener for frozen lemonade? Isn't it
sweet/tart enough already?

Well, if you drank 10 cans of soda per day, I guess your taste buds
would become desensitised to flavour.

I got upset because I never said any such thing! I do not want to sweeten
water, bottled or otherwise. I was talking specifically of lemonade. That
I would make myself. From you know... Lemons! Of course there would be
water in it. But to say that I want to sweeten water is...well...just plain
wrong!

So, you boasted about putting her in your killfile, but you won't stop

Given your track record on this sort of thing, I remain sceptical.

No, I was not! I do not want sweet water. That doesn't even sound good!
The talk was of lemonade. I used to make sugar free lemonade and make it
into shaved ice. Somebody broke my ice shaver and would do the same if I
bought another because they do not understand how it works, and would not
listen. The particular kind I had needed a delicate touch for it to work
and they forced the ice block through, breaking it. So last year I got ice
cube trays that made tiny cubes and we enjoyed that, again with the sugar
free lemonade. However now that I can't have corn, I can not find any
suitable sweeteners. I also can't do carby things like sugar, honey, agave,
etc. So... Unless I can find a sweetener somewhere, the best I can do is
lemon and/or lime slices in water.

We are forced to drink bottled water at the moment due to the drought.
Because of the drought we have an extreme amount of algae in the water and
the stuff they are using to treat it, while probably considered safe, tastes
and smells just horrid!

Hopefully that cleared this up but given how my words are often twisted,
probably not.

Brita filter. Cheaper than buying bottled water.
Others available too.

No. Can't do that either. I don't why yet, I guess we'll find out soon
enough.

Nope. I have a severe dislike for filters. Not sure they would filter out
whatever this is anyway. And I am not all about cheap. Bottled water is
portable. I don't like refilling stuff. I have done it. Mostly I don't.

Oh jeez! I would have to make my own. In past years I used Crystal Light
or similar. I can no longer have that stuff as it all contains Splenda,
Maltodextrin, cornstarch or something else made of corn. And being
diabetic, I can't have any carby sweeteners. I don't buy pre-made frozen
drinks.

Have you considered just adding a teaspoon or so of actal *sugar*? I
realize it would be slightly "carby", but at least it wouldn't have
any crap you are intolerant of. And you can make up the difference of
the carbs by decreasing the amount of beans/rice you eat with your
next meal.

No. I would do without before drinking a sugary drink. I don't drink
calories.
