Default Pork Shoulder Bacon

Anyone here used and care to report? The reviews were mostly positive
but one person said it tasted like ham and not like bacon (no surprise,
I suppose).

I would imagine that it is like the old cottage roll that we used to
buy many moons ago.

In the weekly sale flyer from my local Whole Foods, it says the regular
price is $6/lb. and it's on sale for $3/lb. Even the non-sale price is
much less than what I usually pay for bacon there.

At the bottom of the first page.

I'm not interested in the lower fat - I like to eat fat. But the lower
cost interests me.

Sorry, those are banned now under the Confederate flag/General Lee
exemption.

I bought a package today but was short on time and didn't really look at
it - will try to make it and see what it weighs, among other things, in
the next day or three.

Those flyers are regional - if you look at the bottom, you'll see a list
of all the stores included in the one I got.

Our town is so horribly ashamed about our association with Robt. E. Lee
that we're thinking of changing the name.

I quit using Dixie cups several days ago.

I thought I should report back on this stuff. It's tasty, although it
tastes almost but not quite like bacon. I don't know if we'll buy it
again but I wouldn't refuse to eat it, either.

I've made bacon at home from the fattier parts of the shoulder. Cold
smoked it with apple, cherry, or hickory. It turned out very well

I like that idea! I'm getting some Prague #1 this week and want to
try making bacon - the British, mainly meat, style would be optimal.
