I have been seeing this stuff called SILK in the store. It's soy milk,
or there are almond and other nut milks. I ma lactose intolerant, so I have not had milk in years. Although I can do without drinking milk, I had to stop eating cereal. I tried water and it was horrid. And eating cereal dry is no good. I bought some of this soy milk, and it was great on cereal. I drank some straight and it was tasty and I'll drink it again. But I can not understand how they get "MILK" out of soy beans or nuts. I'm guessing they press them, but I'd think there would be oil, not milk. This has me puzzled. |

This has me puzzled. I'm not sure how to make soy milk but this tells you how to make nut milk. The nuts are soaked, then blended with water and if you wish, strained. http://www.antonhealth.com/2009/06/h...-nut-milk.html |

I had never thought about how hey make almond "milk" until somone asked, and sinjce I know trhat the milk we are m ost familiar with is merely an emulsion of fat in watrer, I extrapolagted from that to explain that almond (nut) milk is the same type emulsion. Fat in water, emulsified. John Kuthe... --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com |
