Can't surf the web with it, yet it will reach the closest Barnes & Noble, 90 miles away. Can't read library ebooks on it, cuz all the libraries use Adobe ADE and Adobe refuses to make software for Linux. The worst part is, it's too thin to use as a doorstop! The cell phone has changed our society and it's just the beginning. We're going to use it to control the internet of things - cars, TVs, hearing aids, appliances. It decimated the watch and camera industries and my assumption is that I'll be purchasing goods locally and non-locally with a phone in a few years. I use the phone in the kitchen to reference proportions that I don't have a good feel for and having a timer that I carry with me is a great help. The phone, in the future will be more important to us than our wallets and our set of keys. We will be lost without these devices literally and figuratively. Ironically, we probably won't be using our phones to make voice calls much. |

Last night a car smashed into a gas pump at the Aloha gas station. My daughter said that there was one of those ice machine refrigerator in the street and she saw an old guy chasing a kid down the street yelling "I'm gonna kill you!" My daughter always sees stuff like that. When I dropped her off at home, I drove by the place and took a picture of an old beater being loaded on to a flatbed with my phone. There was cops and big lights and everything. Cool picture! Thanks cell phone. Yes sir, that's the way things go every night in my town. :-) |

With most phones, you have to push more than one button to take a single picture, but you can easily delete any picture you don't want from the phone - so it's really a non-issue. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

I used adding machine tape up until I got my first smartphone, which was 1.5 years ago. I think it's the best paper to use for a shopping list, if you don't have a smart phone. That way, it's as long or short as your list and you're not wasting any paper. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

Wondering why Google Play isn't recognizing my phone? I need to DL items from GP with the phone instead of selecting it the way I used to. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

Nope, I looked in Settings and they know the difference. https://play.google.com/settings?hl=en -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

What I *really* hate is going to the aisle and seeing a sale price that isn't listed on their website but needs to be checked. That means, I need to get someone with a cell phone in the aisle, they double check that it's not listed and then have to tell the checker what the sale price is. Grrrrr. Hopefully all that is changing now that the merger is really kicking into gear. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

I love their website, I always add the things I want from the ad, the Just 4 U, coupons etc., and print the list. If there are sale prices not listed, the use of the Safeway Card while checking out automatically gives me the sale price. It might be different where you are though, I don't know. Cheri |

I'm talking about items in the aisle that are not listed as being on sale. BTDT too many times. Safeway is famous for listing a sale price and then not giving it to the customer. I've caught them too many times. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

I use the (Publix) shopping list feature to create a list and can add any items I want. And it tells me where in the store to find those items. Why would you need to get someone with a cell phone in the aisle to help you? Don't the employees know where things are? Jill |

Are you saying that they're not listed in the computer when they scan at checkout, or that the aisle price is different than what scans? I've never had either happen when using the card, which you have to use to get the sale prices. Cheri |

Yes, it was easy to catch them before the card, because sale prices rang up at the sale price instead of the way they do it now, which is to ring it up at full price and then subtract money at the end. Nowadays I catch them when a sale price they claim on the tag is website only, so I use my smartphone to look it up and add it to my card but it's not there. Then I have to go through the routine of getting someone to check on their phone or computer and finally someone tells the checker to give me the price that's marked on the shelf. It's a long drawn out affair that isn't worth the time, but it makes me angry that they sell a product at full price by telling a lie on a shelf tag that makes the customer think they are buying it at a sale price. As I said before, maybe they're changing their business practices because I haven't seen that type of shelf tag in the last few months. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

One one of my old ones it was very easy to accidentally take them. The button was on the outside edge of the phone. |

I often have trouble with the Just 4 U. I kept trying to load Coke products on there and it wouldn't work. It wasn't just me either. SIL had the same problem. I don't even bother with that stuff most of the time now. Then again, I don't do much shopping there. Mainly only if I need something and am right by there or if they are the only place that has Coke products on sale. |
