Well, I saw the postings about colonoscopies and opened them in the
hope they were discussing low fiber diets. Reason I'm asking is I have a procedure in a few weeks that calls for a four day low fiber diet then a cleanout before the virtual colonoscopy. Anyone have a four day low fiber menue? - Mike |

My friend did and there wasn't much she could eat. I think it was mostly stuff like crackers, white bread, white rice, broth. |

She is full of shit. That was good, but I think that the poster was asking a real question. Sandwiches with meat and or cheese on white bread are almost zero fiber. Eggs and bacon for breakfast have no fiber. Beer, milk and coffee (my three favorite beverages) are zero fiber. Plain, vanilla or lemon yogurt are fiber-free. You could bake a nice piece of salmon, and if you hand squeeze lemon onto it, the pulp stays with the lemon. I have no idea about your body fat issues, but if you are wanting to get rid of excess body fat, you could use this as a chance to kill two birds... by trying out high-fat/low-carb. I mean, you're going to be dissatisfied anyway. Small doses of senna laxative, and small amounts of MCT oil will prevent constipation in the absence of fiber. Feel free to email me if you wish. I *know my shit* about digestive stuff, and I prioritize email. --Bryan |

Same here; normally the treatment starts the night before, but for some reason, maybe because this is a "virtual" colonoscopy, they want me to start off four days ahead. I have a general list of what I can/cannot eat and it's pretty reasonable (not limited to crackers, etc) but would like to see if someone has a better imagination than I do - MIke |

Last summer, when I was in the hospital and very sick with C. Difficile ( a horrible gut infection) and other infections, they prepped me for a colonoscopy. The doctor decided I was not cleaned out well enough so I had to do the whole thing over two days later. Well, seeing as how my friend and I both go to the same medical clinic, I kinda don't think that is true. I know I had specifics to me because I am diabetic. |

But take nothing with red, blue, or purple dye The WEBMD guys don't know either. http://www.webmd.com/colorectal-canc...y-16695?page=2 One to two days before a colonoscopy, you will stop eating solid foods and drink only clear fluids, such as water, tea, coffee, clear juices, clear broths, flavored ice pops, and gelatin (such as Jell-O). Do not drink anything red or purple, such as grape juice or fruit punch. And do not eat red or purple foods, such as grape ice pops or cherry gelatin. |
