But don't some of us on here feel like screaming at her and occasionally do. I suspect the screaming in real life is warranted.

Well we wouldn't put up with it but then we are not her. Until we have
walked a mile in her shoes ....
I don't really think she needs more of it from us

That's very kind and noble of you, but she asks for it as she probably does at home as well. I have tried to lay off, but it's tough for someone whose life runs by logic and reason and lots of fun. I continue to do my best, because I know you are correct about walking in her shoes and all that; I'll try to keep in mind.

Perhaps you didn't mean to but your perfect life of logic, reason and lots
of fun is perhaps not enjoyed by all ... just saying

Nowhere did JulieN say or imply that her life was "perfect." You,
Ophelia, and Julie Bove have a way of twisting words and/or intent to
suit your current mood.

Good thing you're not a cop! You probably think raped women ask for it too.

You think my life runs by lots of fun? I'd like to see you be disabled
then. And diabetic. And have food intolerances. Oh sure. Lots of fun!

Whoa, Julie Bove! You've very quick to accuse others of having poor
reading comprehension, but in this case that would be you. Go back and
read JulieN's comment - she's saying that her life - JulieN's - is run
by logic, reason and lots of fun. She's not saying your life, Julie
Bove, is "run by lots of fun."

Sheesh! Chill and read a little more slowly...

Indeed. And nobody *lets* somebody else do something like screaming at
them. Unless that person is a toddler or very young child, there isn't much
you can do to stop them. Even then, good luck with that! Best you can do
to a person older than that is to walk out, but that won't stop them because
they may well just start up again when you come back. Or... Tell them that
their behavior is unacceptable. And if they're a dyed in the wool screamer,
they probably won't care.

Bullying. It is really sad. I had real respect for you until you started
hounding Julie. 9 hours ringing any bells? Is it starting all over again?

She isn't everybody's cup of tea, but only people who enjoying bullying
refuse to put her in killfile. You did eventually, May I surmise you have
taken her out for another go?

9 hours is important to you. Did you consider that on this side of
the pond some of us work and sleep? And 4 messages in that time that
I lost my temper? I've lost my temper with her twice because she
persists in telling obvious falsehoods about a company (s). What bugs
you is that I called Julie on a lie and then after you dumped on me I
said that you were her enabler.
I've noticed that you are willing to get in on a gang bang with your
comments after some others begin to jump on an individual. I also
notice that you persist in trailing after Janet UK and picking at her
again and again without cause. Even going so far as to introduce a
subject complete with profanity and her name. Isn't that bullying?
Why are you so interested in me? Why not the others that challenge
Julies's stories? I suggest that you do as you advise and use your
killfile.
Oh, and the only person I put in a killfile was you.

Actually Ophelia, some of us talk with her when she asks a reasonable
question (which she does quite often). She is capable of learning and
sometimes it shows.

Good grief! You talk about me as though I am some kind of simpleton!
Sheesh!

Trying to get these people to stop is just as futile as trying to get
someone (whoever that someone might be) to stop screaming at me.

I never said any of that crap about the eggs! People just make stuff up
about me and look where it goes! A mile long chain of threads posted when I
wasn't even home and all a bunch of nonsense. And then somehow in the end
it will be my fault! What is wrong with you people! I may not be perfect
and I may be the biggest smart ass that ever lived but I don't go around
posting crap about people.

Oh really? And how would *you* prevent someone from screaming at you? You
tell me!

Oh, i don't know.... stand up for yourself and demand to be treated like
a human being? If and when you act like a doormat you're going to be
treated like a doormat.

[sorry to piggyback, Leslie]

Are you addressing me? I'm the one who said you let them scream at you.

Julie, you're an adult. I'm an adult. Children scream. Adults don't
scream at each other. Arguements? Sure. You're sounding like a
candidate for Jerry Springer.

Most women I know are strong enough to get out of what sounds like a
dysfunctional relationship. Sorry, that's the way it reads.

Ah Ha! Leslie! I hate to say this, but the term "doormat" makes me
think of Edith Bunker (from the television show 'All in the Family'.)
Now that I think about it... hmmm. Oh dear...

Sorry, no. I have seen Jerry Springer. Those people all seem to have
affairs.

Some adults do scream. Ever been around Gypsies? In an Italian household?
Some cultures just seem to think that screaming is the norm. We had
neighbors who did nothing but scream. I hated going over there because they
could never hear me and my normal voice is from what I've been told, a loud
one that really carries. But unless I shouted at the top of my lungs, they
couldn't hear me!

Whatever. Easy to tell a person to walk out because you are not the one who
has to get through their life. But when one is older, sick and disabled and
can not work, not so easy to do. Add a kid in there who needs to be
supported and further difficulties. But I am not here to discuss my life.
I am here to discuss food!

No, I am not like Edith Bunker at all.

How is it that you think I managed not to move to CA when my husband had to?
How is it you think that I managed not to move to NY when my husband had to?
Not by being a doormat. As someone once told me, "Pick your battles."

Ahh, but Edith was the real head of that family. She only let Archie
think he was. (-:

Oh right. That will get you far with a person intent on screaming at you.
Try it and report back. I'll be awaiting your results.

I can already tell you what it would be. Another screaming match with
nobody listening to nobody.
