That sounds terrific! I've used chicken broth and red wine for lamb
and beans, but never beer. I always have a bottle handy for when I
want to cook a pork butt in the oven, so maybe I'll try beer the next
time I cook lamb shanks and beans.

Here's a recipe that I used for inspiration, but didn't follow to a T.

You're brave to open the links. I was too wary, and that was somewhat
reinforced by the lack of responses to posts, one each day for several
days and each with a questionable looking link.


I have been cooking lamb shanks with dark beer for a while. I had that
signature lamb shank recipe with the chick peas and caramelized onions,
but tried braising it with beer and beef broth. It is much easier and
very good. Come to think of it, I have some shanks int he freezer that I
should use up.
