We may decide just to keep buying knives with plastic handles for a few more years until the kids are completely out of the house and life quiets down a little - we shall see. I do lament the gradual destruction of some knives I've had for 30 years, though - they weren't anything special but they did have wooden handles. -S- |

I have wooden handled knives I treat the same, only for more then 50 years... still like new. I wash all knives by hand (takes ten seconds to wash a knife). |

And one of the best methods for protecting wooden knife handles and other wooden kitchenware is to apply a coat of beeswax. |
