I've got 2 eMachines that I bought 10 years ago. All the guts and OS
have been replaced. When I replaced the motherboard, the OS license was
not transferable. That was a bummer. The cases are the only thing left
over from the original machines.

You might want to remove any passwords on the users accounts which will
make transferring and accessing data on the drive easier.

My understanding is that the credit is applied to items on this site
which sells refurbished and closeout items.

It's like throwing food to the sea gulls. It just encourages their
annoying behaviour and everyone else has to overhear the squawking.

eh, I think I will go with a Buddhist attitude... Nothing on it really
matters. (Well, not till six months later and I realize I had my tax
returns on it... And the IRS wants to audit my ass. And the only copies I
have are (were) pdfs.

Thanks for the nudge. Better put some of it on DVD for posteriority sake.
Or, derrierity sake.

my ex kid had one of those. It was kinda neat... I'm not sure I'm ready to
let go of having a DVD drive. The new writer isn't usb; that new connector
(well was new 6 years ago) Replaced the ribbon cables. I've fo--- ha!
there it is. Sata! I wonder if a netbook would have an external SATA?
Unlikely, maybe I should go to work on patenting that? I would still at
least still have the DVD writer on the old PC till it dies. Unless
emachines wants it back. Which I doubt... I hope the class action thing
does not take too long and actually comes through. Then I can spend a few
hours/days researching what to buy.

hmmm.... mine is about in the same shape. I hope that is not a problem...
I think I have the original HD around somewhere in a tangled mess of wires
and whatnots. It was only like 3.2 GBs. I doubt I have the original sales
receipt. Wait-- I think I do. I made copy when I sent in for the rebate
when I purchased it. Which after 3 tries and 9 months finally came through.

I didn't Google it, but now I remember the P, though I still would
have included the extraneous S. It's not something I eat. If I were
to snare a rabbit, I'd likely flour and fry it. I associate German food
with sauerkraut.

I've never impersonated him - that would just give him unnecessary
attention and stroke his demented ego. I will plaster his name all
over the Internet, though. So everybody can see what a foolish person
he is.

No, he hasn't been. And even when he does post on topic, he couldn't
care less about the culinary help he receives. And anybody who
responds to him is just a sucker.

Go take a look at alt.life-sucks for the 20-30 threads he starts there
every day just to see what RFC is in for in the near future if this
keeps up.

"abstemious" also does but is harder to pronounce and work into casual

That's an old machine! Anyway, your drive sounds like it's gonna fail.
I've had a bunch of drives fail on me. I don't know why they're so
unreliable. Good luck!

Yeah, he was fired from the Transit Authority of River City after 2
weeks on the job (and 3 weeks of training to get the job).

And after that he only worked about 14 hours for UPS during the whole
holiday season, then was asked to turn in his uniform because he
complained that the steps in the truck were too high and they were
hurting his knees.

Now he just sits home and does the woe-is-me and talks to nobody in
his favorite group alt.life.sucks. Which is why he's here in RFC now,
because nobody will talk to him over there.

X-No-Archive off.

Apparently you did.

What a shame. Nothing would have been more appropriate than some
sociopathic sloth being electrocuted while sitting on his ass because he was
too lazy to straighten out a heating pad cord.

What good would that do, when you will just change your posting address to
avoid her killfile? You know, like you do about once a month? What about
that?

I dare you to answer the questions.

If other people want to reply to him, fine with me. But he's not even
all that entertaining!

OB Food: I had an early dinner. A piece of pan-fried catfish from last
night and the rest of the broccoli.

The baked potato soup will have to wait until I get to the store to buy
some cream. I usually have a couple of half pints in the freezer;
apparently I failed to replenish the supply.

What is his posting nym? If it's Tom Ungvarsky, I must have killed
him a long time ago because I don't know why anyone is bothering to
bring up the name.
