I think she's the cat's meow. Today, on PBS, she did a show on eggs.
Soft boiled, hard boiled, fritatta, scrambled, and fried. No poached
eggs though. She really knows what she's doing. Eggs are simple, but
to do them perfect takes some work.

Agreed- I saw the episode when she was getting some butchering
lessons. The guy told her she was doing a good job and said she could
work for him anytime. She responded that he wouldn't be able to afford
her...

What would you call a man with the same character traits? You'd say
he was a demanding and strong leader who didn't put up with any BS.

I saw that episode and really like her show. It's peaceful, serene, and
there is no shrieking screaming flapping entertainment by the cook, just
cooking. I love the kitchen on that show with the great natural light
flooding in. I have learned from her shows and alway feel like I have
had a relaxing mini vacation afterwards. Perfectionists are undervalued
in America. I am amused though by all the men she surrounds herself
with-she clearly cannot stand having another female in the kitchen with
her.

Glad to hear she got sprung from the slammer. I didnt know she cooked. I only saw the arts and craft part of the show apparently.

She was framed, I tell ya! Most people would have gotten off with a
slap on the wrist and a big fat fine. At the very least, they were
simply making an "example" of her when they threw her in the slammer.
Not that it stopped any of those Haaaavard MBA Wall Street financial
type guys from almost wrecking our economy.

Just think, at the same time they were tarring her over some small
potatoes illegal activity, Bernie Madoff was stealing millions and
living like a king. The SEC was too busy with Martha to worry about
him or the Enron guys.

I can't stand the woman. I remember suffering through that episode with
Julia Child many times only because I loved Julia and would watch anything
she was on. It was the wedding cake episode with the cream colored cake
with the marzipan raspberries and leaves. I kept hoping that Julia would
smack her. Heh!

I wouldn't! I'd call him an ass. There is a way to not put up with BS
without coming across as snooty and better than thou. That's how she comes
across to me.

I knew Julia Child's kitchen was transported intact to the
Smithsonian, if I remember the name correctly, but I didn't know
Martha had anything snapped up by a museum.

Julia Child was a sweetheart.

In a museum, I'd like to see Julia's kitchen and Martha's jail cell.

that's bs. you use the word 'always'. i happen to admire Julia C,
Martha S., Kate Hepburn, etc, etc, etc. Hell even Naomi Wolfe has her

money to be as obsessive as she is. Her ideas can often be adapted to
suit any degree for talent or skill.
