Yeah. At our ages, it is sad to have to speculate like this.

Please don't mention his name. It's bad luck.
Same reason we don't say the name of the

I could be wrong but I believe it was Jill who contacted him although I
don't remember by what means she used and I don't think he responded. Or
perhaps I should say that she left him a message.

Yes, I called the number I had for him. It immediately went to
voicemail. I left a message saying a number of people have been asking
about him. Never heard a word back.

Some people may not like the guy (I've certainly had my issues with him
but we got past it). It would be nice to know if he's okay.

Why?? If he's been dead since his last post then the corpse ought to
be fully rotted by now. Not much left to show at the funeral. Of course
it's essential that someone confirm the loss of rfc's loveable loser so
we can go ahead and advertize the position. Qualifications: must be able
to toast an English Muffin and drink it with a tall glass of ice cold milk,
or beer, depending!

Ahhhhh, feel the love.

There is a thing called human decency.......... it's quite obviously in
very short supply on this group.

Actually, considering his treatment of Blake, I think human decency has risen in this group with Andy's absence. If he died, I hope it was painful. If not, I hope nobody gives him the impression he's missed here. He's an asshole drunk.

Did you grill those sliced into coins like they're served? Did you use
some sort of vessel on the grill? They look great and I have some brats
in the fridge to use up and looking for ideas other than putting them in
a hotdog bun.

Thanks. Nicely sliced onions, too! I got that knife sharpener someone
here, Ed?, posted about recently and it really did a nice job on my
Pampered Chef santoku knives. I have two of them - a 5" and I think the
other is an 8" or maybe 7". Can't remember, but the big difference is
the handle size. The bigger one gives you better leverage. I still
often use the smaller one more than the bigger one for meat.

I'd not place much stock in that info. After seeing pictures of
Andy's house that $9,700.00 is likely one year's taxes. Often those
on line tax records are not updated for over a year. The property
next door to me sold over a year ago and the sale is still not posted
on line. I check periodically only because I'm nosy about the price
paid and if there's a mortgage.

That reminds me of a sports obituary written by Lowell Cohn of the SF
Examiner, Thurman Munson's death by plane crash (Munson was the NY
Yankees catcher, 1969-1979):

"He was an asshole. Now he's a dead asshole".

IMO, Arby's and Subway are not "something like" Le Bec Fin.
