Do you use a garlic press or just chop? There was a Trudeau at Kroger for
10.99 but seems bit pricey for something that is a one-trick pony. |

I shot a lot of things. Never my eye. But never what I was aiming at. I did once almost put my eye out though. I made sure to call my dad to tell him that because he always said I was gonna do it. I was about 30 then. Did it on the TV antennae on the spare black and white TV that I had stuffed in my bedroom closet. Danged thing was wanging out an just got me as I reached in there to get something to wear. |

I just blast it with some water and if that doesn't take the skin out I just scrape it a few times with fork or spoon or anything at hand. Takes about 4 seconds on a bad day. Do we chop or press? Sometimes we chop as we wants bits in the project, sometimes we press when we want to be more broadly dispersed or a micro-component. |

Only press a clove or two at a time. With a good garlic press, all you need to do is rinse it off. Julie seems to make everything in life difficult. Especially when it comes to food. > Do we chop or press? The papery skin stays inside the press while the garlic oozes out. It's much easier to work with this way. No peeling required. |

Of course I do that either way. But it still leaves it's (non-pappery) housing in the press, which is, as I say, quickly removed. |

Warning....don't look at this picture if you are faint of heart or don't get a laugh out of sick humor. You have been warned. I cut this out of some old weird magazine many years ago. http://i49.tinypic.com/dmac1t.jpg G. ![]() |

That's like asking if one should chop or slice a tomato - depends on the usage. I think Sheldon will be here any minute, damning the press. I have the Zyliss and is does work the best, imo. I use it seldom, but have also pressed a bit of flavor out of raw ginger. |
