tare function, glass top and ability to switch between imperial or
metric units , 7.75 x 7.75 x 7.75 inches for $19.00
You know Costco. . .it is there this week but not forever.
I got one as a second scale. My current kitchen scale is very old and
only has a capacity of a couple of pounds.

If you use a scale nearly every day then a battery operated scale can
be suitable, otherwise for occasional use a non-battery scale is less
problematic with dead batterys and weighs just as well.

I've had my current battery-operated scale for over 15 years, and have
only had to replace the battery twice.
I do have a very accurate set of balance scales, but they're packed away
- they take up far too much room.

I had a nice set of balance scales but the cops took them.

Just this past week, DH purchased a digital scale from Aldi, for only
$9.99! Maximum capacity is 11 lbs. and it weighs grams or ounces. I'm
a bit confused by the "mL" weights though! Uses one triple-A battery.
Works very well to weigh flour and other ingredients to make homemade
breads, etc.

Sounds like a deal. I think that's about what I paid for my Escali
scale, too. Periodically, check accuracy with a 1/4# stick of butter.
It's always been spot on.

I check mine with a couple of brass weights, previously used in a lab -
one 50g, one 100g. I've found that quarter-pound sticks of butter can
vary from 108 to as much as 116 grams!
