To see the thing on a larger scale, look at the Maldives: They're a
sovereign nation of islands south-southwest of India. They're buying up land
on the mainland (India, Sri Lanka and Australia) because it's estimated that
their nation will be completely swallowed by the rising seas.

Yup. And little Tuvalu is in the same position with regard to climate
change and rising sea levels.

In the US I don't have much interest in Florida land. Might not be able
to pass it on t my great-grandchildren.

The net isn't that much. Lush lands move away from the equator.
Deserts* near the equator grow. Glaciers near the poles shrink. What
changes is the locations not the total arable land.

* This being RFC I should spell it desserts. Northerners each rich low
carb food. Equatorials grow sweet fruits and starchy roots. There will
be a switch from fat calories to carb calories. Pasty chefs celebrate
global warming!
