Default Kitchen Klutzes of America Day

Yesterday, June 13th, was Kitchen Klutzes of America Day. If you made it
through the weekend without burning, cutting, or spilling something on
yourself, congrats!

Took this from the Hungry Girl newsletter. Thought some of you might find
this interesting. Posted 'after' the date, as if you knew it was coming up,
you might cut something in anticipation.

Something else to remember is that Friday the 13th fell on Sunday this
month.

Well, that explains it. Yesterday was my birthday - talk about
appropriate. At the restaurant, there was nothing I didn't spill,
drop, or mutilate. No congrats due here.

We get a day?!! Kewl.

I didn't hurt myself in the kitchen yesterday, but I didn't do much
cooking,
either.

I still have a scar on the tip of my thumb from where I sliced it off
(twice!)
but it's shrinking up nicely. Should be gone in a couple years if I
can keep
from doing that again.

I have a nice scar where I slipped with a knife opening a hermetically
sealed meat pack on my middle finger and a divot out of my thumb where I
stabbed it doing the same (different times). I am going to buy meat from
the butcher from now on....but then again, I'd probably get a terminal paper
cut from the butcher wrap.

That holiday was back in April for me. I was halving an avocado for
guacamole and cut my right index finger but good. Fortunately, I had
prompt medical attention from my former roommate and her husband. Said
former roommate took over the guacamole prep while her husband bandaged
my finger.
