Hmmm. How much like rum does that taste?

It tastes a lot like rum... because it *is* rum.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Precisely. But it is easily distinguishable.

No.... but it has a little extra flavor. When mixed in, say, in a
Cuba Libre - I can say it has "lime flavor" and that's about it. I
don't say "coconut"; I just say "it's different".

What a pity (to me).

Could say I can't remember LOL! It is certainly recognisable as rum but
with its own distinctive taste. Definitely works very well for any drink
containing coconut. Goes down very easily, which is how I ended up
loopier than usual.

LOL x 2 (at least). One never knows. Maybe someday I'll try
that, but then I am not much of a drinker.

(I think my aversion to rum stems from my mom's babas au rhum [may
have mangled that]. She was quite entranced by flaming desserts
for a while when I was a kid.)

Neither am I normally. That's why it sneaked up on me The host of the
party had to drag me into her kitchen to stuff food into me.

It's good in context. But it's not for sipping, AFAIAC.
