I have a coworker with a birthday this month, and my usual birthday
contribution is the dessert. This is a teacher new to our building, so I've never baked for her. She's mentioned in the past that her favorite dessert is a lemon meringue pie. Lemon meringue isn't something I care for, and I've never been able to make a good one (perhaps because I don't like them enough to know what is truly good in one. It's a texture thing with the filling, I believe). Aside from standard lemon bars, does anyone have a suggestion for an unusual lemon pie/cake/bar/something fun dessert? I don't want to start making desserts at random without first getting some good recommendations. Difficulty level can be anything from super easy to moderately difficult, but not professional pastry chef complications, please. Thanks for any suggestions! Alexis |
