Default mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy

This was asked, in a rounabout way in the thread on oatmeal. It was the
question of the economic sensibility of a single-serve instant serving
vs. prepping the cereal in the traditional stovetop method.
I think the instant serve is awful; so awful in fact that it would
probably have been served in a Dickesian orphanage. I prepare a
combination of regular oats, raisins, Splenda, cinnamon, a little bit of
salt, a bit of brown sugar. In the evening I put 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the
cereal in a bowl, Sometimes I add chopped peeled apple in it. I add
the liquid , usually about 1/4 cup apple juice and 1/2 cup water, and
let it rest covered over night. In the morning it takes only about 3
minutes to microwave. Hmm, hot oatmeal beats the blast in a flash.

A kid'll eat ivy too, wouldn't you?

Who recorded it; back in the 40's I'd guess?

Salt
8 Plastic Sandwich Bags

Put 1/2 Cup oats in a blender and whirl at high speed until powdery;
reserve in a small bowl and repeat procedure with an additional 1/2 Cup

If you're using a food processor, powder the 1 Cup of oats in one

Into each sandwich bag put 1/4 Cup unpowdered oats, 2 talespoons
powdered oats, and a scant

Store in a box or airtight container.

To serve
Empty packet into a bowl.

You must have a slow microwave. Mine's done in a minute and a half.

I'll try 1.5 minutes tomorrow. I began the 3 minute routine because I
was told to cook it 5 minutes by a neighbor, and thought that was too
long. Will report back. :-)

It was a big hit first for the Merry Macs in 1943. And another famous
recording was by the Pied Pipers on Capitol Records.

Wouldn't lambs and kids fed on ivy be too gamey?
