Can it eaten raw?

For quick eggplant snack: select a nice firm fruit of appropriate size for your appetite; trim off the calyx bits and wash; stick a knife into it in a few places, then microwave for about three minutes (depending on size, MW power, and similar variables); cut in half lengthways and apply plenty of fresh pepper, then cool until approachable.
