Default Methods of cooking steak - your preference?

:> cooking steak?

: Sorry for the bit late reply. I have a super simple way to do skillet steak
: and onions. 4, 6-oz sirloin steaks, 3 medium onions, wedged, salt and
: pepper to taste, 1 to 1-1/2 cup dryish white wine. Place in skillet covered
: with lid; a nonstick or teflon skillet is helpful. Cook on medium heat
: about an hour. Remove lid and cook until liquid is gone (watch carefully
: because browning will occur very quickly at this point). Stir onions and
: steaks around until browned to your liking. Serve steaks with onions.

Good thing you apologized for the "late reply", the rec.food.cooking
newsgroup police are watching very closely!
