If it's really top quality produce, which it sounds is the case, just cut
'em up in a bowl with some fresh basil, salt, pepper, and maybe a tad of
balsamic vinegar. If the onion is strong slice it and soak in tepid water
for a while. IMO you do not need to "gussy up" really good salad ingredients
with cheese, etc.
